FYI: The Opti. Beginner Class will be having Pirate Day Friday, 7/17. Dress up as your favorite pirate! There will also be a pizza party party to celebrate the end of a great first session.
7/10/09 The Opti. Beginner class will be having Summer Olympics on Friday 7/10/09. To celebrate they are planning a trip to the ice cream shop, please have the sailors pack $5 so they can enjoy an ice cream cone. The instructors are hoping to see some team sprit; check out what country each sailor is representing and dress accordingly or design a country flag for your team.

Goals for Summer 2009
1. Be comfortable and confident with being on the water in various types of wind.
2.Have respect and Good Sportsmanship towards other sailors, instructors, and their boats.
3. Have a relatively strong knowledge of the parts of the boat and how they contribute to the action of sailing.
4. Be able to sail around a triangle course with proper sail trim/knowledge of the wind direction.
5. Most Improtantly: HAVE FUN!!!!! Learning that sailing is an amazingly fun sport that they can participate in for their whole lives, and having fun with the sport right from the start is really important.
