Distance:

Approximately 12 Nautical Miles

Sail to the north end of Bristol Harbor.  Bristol Yacht Club is on the west side of the inner harbor next to Bristol Marine.  Moorings are reserved provided you have paid for the two nights, Thursday and Friday.   Rafting is not allowed.  Anchoring may be possible for early birds, but anchorage will be a long dinghy ride with no launch service.  Upon arrival call Bristol Yacht Club launch on channel 68 to be directed to a mooring.  Launch service is included with the mooring fee.

Thursday, July 3: SAILING

Suggested departure from Ida Lewis YC at 1100.  Bill Flynn will coordinate a flotilla departure at this time since Magic Frog will be sailing from 3rd Beach.  Channel 72 will be used for flotilla communications while underway.  However, you may find it more convenient to use cell phones for communications between individuals.  Current will be against us going north, but this is unavoidable.  The distance is approximately 12 miles so everyone should be able to arrive sometime around 1300 hours to secure moorings.

Thursday, July 3:

Cocktails at Bristol Yacht Club at 1700 hours followed by Catered Dinner (ie: lobster boil) at the clubhouse.

Last launch to boats at 2030 before fireworks per order of harbormaster.

Fireworks at 2200.

Text Box:

Friday, July 4:

Continental Breakfast at the club from 0730 to 1000 ($7.00).

Launch ride to Bristol Harbor Inn dock 0930.

Return launch from Bristol Harbor Inn dock runs from 1315 to 1415.

Picnic on club lawn at 1730, grilles available.

ACTIVITIES:

A special launch ride to the parade area, Bristol Harbor Inn, leaves the club dock promptly at 0930. Return trips begin 1315 to 1415.  From Bristol     Harbor Inn Landing, walk to Hope Street (Parade Route).

Very recent water & zoning restrictions have forced us to abandon our plan to use Claire Tague's house & porch as a viewing area.  However, the launch should get us there in time to pick out a good viewing spot.  It would be a good idea to bring a sandwich or something for lunch and water to drink.  No doubt there will be food vendors along the route, if you are not inclined to bring something with you.  However, most businesses and restaurants will be closed during the parade.

We will do our own grill night at BYC, but we bring all the food.

The plan is that each boat bring its own meat, fish, chicken etc. and that a pot luck dish for about 8 people as follows:

Last name beginning with B or C - Hors d'oeuvres

D thru G - Veggie dish

H thru L - Salad

M thru V - Dessert

Following dinner, we'll complete the serenade on the lawn.

Saturday, July 5: depart 1030 hours for Potters Cove on Prudence Island.  Pick up moorings as available or anchor.  Cocktail raft-up at 1730, host boats to be announced.

Potters Cove is about 5 miles from the Bristol mooring field, so there will be plenty of time to find a spot and enjoy a picnic lunch, afternoon swim and cocktail hour.

Sunday, July 6: depart for home on own schedule.  Note: July 6 is the Family Fun Day at Ida Lewis Yacht Club.  An early departure should get you there in time.

Tide will be with us at about 1115, so a leisurely start is fine.  Some may want to leave early to make Family Fun Day at ILYC which starts at 1100.
